RTC cannot connect to remote Nav DB Server

Hi, I am trying to connect using the RTC 2013 to a remote Nav 2013 Server but when I select the server and type in the IP address, port number and instance I get this error message attached as a screenshot. Please can you help me figure out what my problem is. I disabled the firewall from the remote machine but still that does not help.

    Are you connecting to the server from the same domain or from different domain

    Thanks Skulla for your response. I was able to figure things out. To your point my RTC was not on the same domain as the Dynamics Nav server and I was using Windows as means of authentication. So I had to go for the NavUserPassword authentication where I installed the NavService certificate and got the thumbprint code and so on and configured the ClientUserSettings XML file so that the ClientServicesCredentialType = "NavUserPassword" and the DnsIdentity = "Nav Certificate". If you have any issues on this will be glad to assist.
