Is NAS necessary for native db config?

Hi all,

I have one client for whom the server is hosted in data center and they r accessing using citrix receiver.

In this case I have installed the native database server config and can able to open the multiple users concurrently.

But is it necessary to configure the Navision Application server for the end users to access the server from remote.

Because from the end user only one user can access at one point of time. For this , is NAS needs to configured.

If anyone know the above mentioned scenario, Kindly let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
chandru.

The NAS is not used to access the server from remote, but is used to schedule jobs which are periodically executed (eg. export orders every hour, do some calculation every x hours, etc.). See MSDN Library Microsoft Dynamics NAV Application Server.

    Hi Luc Van Dyck ,

    Thank you.

Why I am asking is when I try to install the native database server pointing to the client license and database available in C drive and I have selected the net type as TCP/IP.

When I try to open the database,I am getting error as

"The OS could not establish connection to database".

If you have any idea on this error, Kindly share.

    Thanks & Regards,
    chandru.
