Navision 2009 R2 : User Table hangs

Dear all,
I am facing a strange issue. Quite recently, my database accidentally got converted from Navision 5.0 to Navision 2009 R2. The problem is that when I am trying to update "Expiry Date", user table simply gets hung up and all other users are unable to login.
But when I restore the entire database to another server, it does not hang at all.
Any idea?
