FTP in NAV2013

Hi all,
I want to upload a bunch of files from NAV2013 to an external server using FTP. I have been using the NAV FTP Client v.1.1 without any trouble in NAV classic, but in NAV2013 things are a bit more complicated.
The files, images in this scenario, are sitting in a blob field. The NAV FTP Client automation seems to always run on the client. That would mean to download the images to the client first before sending them using FTP, which is a bit odd imho.
Does anyone know wheter this automation can run on the server? Or is there an alternative? I am discovering dotnet automations right now, so I might be missing the obvious. Any help will be much appreciated.
