NAV2009 R2 with 64Bit Outlook

So all the documentation I found so far says that 64Bit Outlook 2010 will not work with NAV2009 R2 classic, specifically from the preview report, File - Send as email functionality. We use this to get some reports into excel that cannot easily be done in other ways. I really need 64 bit as it greatly speeds up the work I have been doing in Powerpivot.

This doesn't work with NAV though - is there anyone who might understand this enough to figure out a way to apply this workaround to make NAV work with 64Bit outlook? [-o<
