Dear Friends,

I have noticed in one of my company database, that the Inventory quantity for a particular Item is zero (many items) but Value is available.
What would be the reason?

Any mistake happened, somebody changed costing methods or "avg cost cal type" changed?

I am confused what to do, but I have ran my batch job many times, but result is same.

Warm Regards
kmk

    Hi,

have / had the same at my employer. The source of it were several:

    - changing the costing method
    - quite a few (standard) errors regarding inventory valuation
    - revaluations of items which don't have a "real" cost posting (purchase, sale)
    - date filters on the cost amount (actual) and (expected) calculation - no real error

Cleaning this mess up is a tedious task. To have a chance in succeeding I would recommend to apply all available fixes regarding costing from Microsoft. There is a rollup hotfix, released in november 2012. This is a good base to start with. I would also recommend to try the corrections out in a test database.

    with best regards

    Jens
