Kitting and reservations

Hello Group,
I'm sure there's an article for this, but after a bit of searching with no results I decided to post it.
I'm drowning it reservation modifications in our current database, but it conceptually seems simple.
We have several items that require a kitting step to ship. These are setup on the item card with the kit and auto build kit as true. On the sales line I would like to reserve the finished good and have the reservation reserve the require components as well. I don't see this happening however I can't determine if its the modification made in the DB or simply that's not how Navision functions. The issue were having is multiple finished good use items within the kits and even with the reservation in place the item can't be produced...
Make sense? Any ideas?

Kit has been discontinued by Microsoft and in all honesty, it's not a very well developed functionality in version 5.0.
Instead of spending time to create this modification, save this time to possibility upgrade to NAV2013 with Assembly. I know not the answer you want, but modifying how reservation system work is never a good use of time.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog
