Hi,
By default the credentials for Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server are setup to "Network Service". When I am trying to change this to my account: domain\username I keep on receiving an error message "Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start". This happens on Win 7 professional, no problems on Win 2008 Server.
How to bypass this error?
Regards,
Igor

I hope the error is coming in NAV 2009 Version.
This error might be due to dependency on Port Sharing Service. It is a part of command which creating service.
Resolution -
Try Enabling and Starting service - NetTcpPortSharing .
* In windows 7 this service remain disable by default.
If you still have the issue, then post the error from event viewer.
Thanks & Regards,

Nope, it's NAV2013 so TCP Sharing should not have any effect.
Cheers,
Igor
1. Please check the Dependencies Tab on Service (Under services.msc).
OR
2. check it in the registry -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ SERVICENAME -> DependOnService
3. check the EventLog.
Please share the information.
Thanks & Regards,
