HI,

We are using Navision 5.0 in our company. We have Manufacturing, Purchase, Sales and Distribution, Logistics and Dispatch, Projects and Finance modules. While we reconciling the stocks and corresponding costs, we came to know that for some ILES, the VLES are posted with different location codes and for some ILES, the VLES ITEM codes are not matching.. so can anyone explain what can be the reasons..

Regards,
Raghuram

I am assuming that VLE stands for Vendor Ledger Entry. However, I must confess that I don't have a 5.0 database. So, I checked it in 2009 R2 database, only to find that VLE does not have a Location Code field. Is this some kind of customization done in your database? If yes, then I suspect that there is some bug in that. Check the field id of this "Location Code" field in VLE to proceed.

Two basic reasons that can happen:
1 - manual data modification directly in the tables
    2 - custom development

The root cause here is that either one was done by someone who does not know what they are doing, and it was either not tested at all, or tested by someone who does not know what they are doing.

If you don't get someone involved who REALLY knows what they are doing, then it is almost certain that the problem will get worse.

    Dear Jglathe & DenSter,

Thank you very much for your reply. After verification we had found that there might be manual intervention but for some entries we cannot found the route cause.
