Impossible to lookup an option when non-editable

In the good old days in the classical client, in a non-editable list like job-ledger entries you were able to do a lookup in an option field (Type) to see the optionvalues. That doesn't seem to be possible in the RTC? When the list is editable and you make the option-field non-editable on the page, it also isn't possible....
