BOM Journal and Kit Item posting issue

Ver - NAV 2009 R2 Classic
Hi -
I have a BOM Journal line with Type Assembly and Item no. GS312, this line has a lot no. 13F13PB and then I have a Kit Line with Type = Item and Item no. as TP1003 and this Kit line has a lot no. 30021, all the tracking lines are correct and no issues here.
When I try to post the BOM journal I get an error 'Lot no. is required for Item TP1003' (Kit Item) even though I have specified a lot no. 30021. I am using NAV 2009 R2 Classic.
Has anyone encountered this issue, any help is highly appreciated.
