Modify table with card form

currently I'm trying to modify table from card form. For one field, I've added a calculation code at OnOpenForm() and OnAfterGetRecord(). The calculation value got to update the card form, but fail to update source table. I tried to add MODIFY function in card form trigger, but it is showing error, "You cannot make any changes in the database until a transaction has been started". I've have went through all post i this forum but I haven't find my solution yet. Please Help..
