Hi there,
I'm dealing with limited user license documentation in order to get the conclusion if some users in my vertical solution can "take adventage" of this new license, much cheaper as you know.

With this license, some users could just insert in 3 tables (well, there is a list with some other tables which are allowed too). But do you know if these users can have set indirect in the Insert Permission in more than 3 tables??? Do you see what I mean??

Thank you.

    Hi

It does not matter if the insert is done with a direct or indirect permission.
You cannot do more than 3 >TSQL "Insert Into table"< on one SQL transaction.
And you cannot post into a General Ledger Entry.

For the most part I view it as a read-only license to allow users that just have reporting and inquiry needs to get into NAV in a cheaper way. In some very limited scenarios it would work beyond that (eg. if a user just needs to enter time into a journal and post it...so long as it doesn't hit the G/L I guess) but I think a lot of partners will plan on using these licenses for purposes they're not suited to, in order to keep software pricing down. Once the usage restrictions are enforced, a lot of customers will likely need to upgrade to full licenses later.

With a limited user you can access (read) all tables with every connector (Webservice, Odata, ...) . It's great for reporting.

It's quite good for small task like supplying (create a requisition line), Time Report (Presence), etc.

Mostly to be used for reporting purposes I suppose, with option to handle very specific and tiny foot-print transactions. One should not go in for limited users if the focus is input of data into the system, the focus should be for the users who are only interested to look at reports.
