Architectural Question

Hi Guys,
Want to know your opinion on the following subject.
We are thinking of building an "app" for our salesreps to use while they are away from the office.
It will have some basic capabilities - place order, check stock, etc, etc. The main requirement is to be able to use this "app" offline.
We use NAV 2009 as the backend, so the thinking is to have data downloaded/uploaded from NAV to the "clients" on periodic basis.
The question that I have is what to use as the "client"? We need quite a lot of functionality there and do not have any skills inhouse other then NAV development. Sure it can be outsourced, but I want first to see if it can be done in other way.
Can we have a standalone NAV client for each salesrep? Not sure about licensing requirements.....
Thoughts?

    Hi,

did you take a look at Anveo WebDesk? I think they have what you require, including offline capability. And it can be configured from NAV, completely.

I am not sure about Anveo. I do not speak German and their site does not have an option to turn into English. Are you affiliated with them?

    Hi,

no, I'm not affiliated with them. I have a customer (they use our AddOns) who is using it on a fairly large scale, and I have seen a few demos/tutorials on it. I also had a chat at Cebit with their CEO/Lead Developer. They certainly know what they're doing.

    Here is a link to the english-speaking site: http://www.conion-media.com/anveo-web-d ... eo-mobile/

I've heard positive feedback from Anveo too. Does not make sense to reinvent the wheel.

Yeah, my gut feeling tells me the same from what I've seen so far. There's also a seperate area for it here on mibuso (http://www.mibuso.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=51).
