Looping through directories with DotNet

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a way to loop through directories using a DotNet data type?
Basically what I want to do is the same as looping through the old File table with filters, and import the files in each directory.
I'm thing in 2009/2013 there ought to be a DotNet type to accomplish the same - where you don't have to bother with that old clear/reset bug in the File table.
