List-Page initialy just loads 20 records in XP

Hi!

My customer has an issue with his Windows XP clients: If he opens Page 492 (Pagetype: ListPlus) he only sees the first 20 Records. the others are only loaded if you change the window height, refresh or scroll.

On windows 7, everything works fine.

The customer wants' it to behave like in Win 7 so i need to find some workaround. I've already tried different things to manually provoke an upgrade but without success.... I'm glad for any ideas to tackle the problem. :?

I don't quite understand. It loads 20 rows while more rows would fit on the screen?

On each and every XP station or just one?

If so, then report the bug to Microsoft and have it fixed.

It only lists 20 records even though there are about 60 to list and the page shows empty lines below these 20 records. It stays that way until i refresh, scroll or change height of the window (moving the pointer beyond the last showed line works too) if one of these things happen, the full recordset is shown.

I'm afraid microsoft will just tell me to upgrade the OS or use NAV2013... which wont be wanted by the Customer and only hurts our business relationship with him. Besides that, we want to ship by the end of the month and i doubt i'll even hear from MS by that time... Last time I reported an issue they let me wait 6 months with their solution and then told me to use NAV13 when it wasn't even released in localised version. =D>

So, I'm more interessted in a workaround which doesn't involve software upgrades - or anything related to waiting for an external solution.

p.s. the problem exists on multiple Win XP machines. We could recreate the problem on our virtual XP machine and the Customer in his testing envoirement (unvirtualised). The page is a default version NAVW16.00 unchanged so far besides my tries for automatic updating during the renderin process. The customer has Win XP as well as Win 7 PCs and won't change due to third party software requirements.

Why would microsoft tell you to upgrade? Both XP and 2009 are supported versions right?

It would help if you can tell if this happens on all XP systems or just one, or just the ones at this customer.

sorry i forgot to tell you in my first response: the Issue exists on every XP machine we tested so far.

I guess microsoft will tell me to upgrade because they did so in the past.. Well they didn't use the words "upgrade your system". But they told me "the issue will be fixed in the next release" which was NAV2013 and essentially means the same.

I'm affraid I don't know of any workarounds, but to me it sounds like MS shoud fix this in 2009. It's clearly a bug.

However, windows XP is kinda old and upgrading seems inevitable for your customer. You might want to suggest that anyway. XP does not support the latest versions of .net and you're bound to run into issues sooner or later.
