POS Handheld (Android or iOS)

I'm looking at a solution that would replace FULL desktop PCs at our small remote locations but was wondering if anyone out there who have used Android/iOS or Tablets to do Sales Orders with a barcode scanner and credit card reader?

We originally looked and started with LSRetail but they are more of a desktop software and we're looking at a small footprint. So any idea or direction would be great.

    Wouldn't windows 8 tablets be easier?

    I thought about this! I have the Surface Pro and been running NAV 2009 R2. Was wondering if mobile device have one that would use the camera to scan barcodes and have a device to read credit cards.

    It's a relatively normal windows device, but you can also look at other brands. There are ton's of tablet devices available that run Windows 8 and basically compete with the Surface. They are generally much cheaper.

    For Barcodescanning you can use a normal USB barcodescanner.

    Reading creditcards is something I've never implemented.
