Has anyone enabled Fixed Asset posting against a Job in POs?

Hello all -
Standard NAV has fixed assets locked out of posting when you create a purchase order line for a job. I've got a client who'd like to do this as they're using jobs for internal projects rather than externally billed projects. I'm wondering if anyone has tried enabling this? In theory it should work (as it's not too different than posting to both an inventory item and a job), but I figure there must have been a good reason why this was locked down.
