I got the same error...
Kriki... what do you mean with... Reset your computer? it seems to be a call center reply, not a Krikilian reply!
When you 'suddenly' get these kind of errors, generally it means something is hanging in the memory of the computer. What is hanging? It can be everything. So first step is to control this. How? Reset the computer. If the error disappears, something was indeed hanging in the memory. What? This is more difficult. Generally it is some Excel-session but it is not always the case.
Now that this is not the case, we have to find out why this suddenly happens. Some update of Windows? New version of Office? Some change in NAV setup? Other?
Now I would try with the Debugger and checking what is going on while exporting.
BTW: remember this: Windows is only stable after the NEXT reset!Regards,Alain Krikilion

It's not a "reset" problem.
It's a problem related with the filters you set before exporting to excel.
I'm still investigating on it but if you don't set filters it does not go on error.0 -
Wondering if anyone solved this issue? It's definitely related to filters as I can export to excel without issue depending on the filters.

I've found on job ledger entries if the job name has invalid characters then the file won't create. So check for / or $ etc in the items you are going to export.0

Thanks for the information here's a some more on my issue.
My issue is in the Item Ledger Entry table.
Some of my fields do contain the "/' character example Location = "C/S Jordan". But the item number field does not have "/" or "$".
Example:
Item No. Range = R101185 : This item does not export and includes a location of "C/S Jordan"
Item No. Range = R101184..R101185 : This does export and both have a location of "C/S Jordan"
Item No. Range = R101184 : This does export and has a location of "C/S Jordan"
Any other thoughts or paths to examine would be helpful
Cheers,Robert0 -
If you look at the filename of the Excel file that is created when it does work, then look at the differences between the one that works and the one that doesn't the answer should hopefully make itself known.0
-
Try this:
manually delete the name, and type it manually by keyboard. If possible, do not use copy and paste (especially from excel)0 -
Hello,
It seems that this issue has been solved but I can't see the resolution.
I have some job journals that I'm trying to export to Excel and I have the same error. There are some batches that are being exported but most of them are not. So I think this is as ebsoft says, related to the filters. If I'm exporting all the journal lines it is working.
Does anybody have a hint on this?
Regards!0 -
The filename is created from the field description, whichever field that is, it will contain non printable characters, like tab marks etc, check to see that there are no spaces at the end of the name field0
