I use NAV 5.0 SP1. Does it Matter get shipment line very slowly
Occasionally locked Sales Line table.

Locks are quite normal in every multi-user database system. If they lead to unintentional system behaviour (e.g. deadlocks, slow down the functionality,...) there are a couple of things you can do to improve the system. But that depends on your individual situation.
