Multiple delivery dates for an Item in a single sales order

Dear NAV Users,

I have the following scenario.

Customer is placing an confirmed order (Sales order) for an item for 100 PCS. But the quantity need to be delivered in different dates ie., Date 1 - 20 pcs / Date 2 - 50 pcs / Date 3 - 30 pcs.

Instead of splitting the item in to multiple sales order lines is there anyway i can maintain this information in the sales order. Currently the users are splitting this line in to multiple lines to enter each delivery date and they feel its very tedious.

If there is any workaround to enter/maintain this data in a easier way without doing customizations ?
Thanks and Regards,
Venkatesh

In a standard NAV there is no other way - you would need to do a mod if Customer insists.

You could create a "split line function" which asks for the number of lines and then simply create the new lines. The user would then only need to amend the qty and the shipping date.
Maybe you could even create a tablebox form where the user can already enter the qty for the new lines and the shipment dates before creating the lines. Be careful with reservations and item tracking.
