Dual Costing or Multiple Costing

Hi All,
Does Navision 2013 has a feature to allow multiple costing for same item. Currently it allows only one costing method, we are using Avg Costing Method but this is giving us very bad margins on our sales since we buy items and sell items for our Projects at special pricing but since Avg Cost is turning out to be not working the way we want, is there any work around provided for this. Can we go for customization so that same item can kept and a selection is provided to us on what costing method to choose while doing the transaction.
Regards
KH

That is not possible. Switching the costing method all the time is contradictory to the consistency principle in accounting, and that applies to item costing as well.

If you use Job No. and/or Job Task No. in your document lines, that will be evaluated when NAV builds the internal item application entries. This ensures that only items from one project are applied to each other and prevents the profit margin of the sales being influenced by other purchases which are not part of the project.Kai Kowalewski0 -
Hi Kowa,
Thanks for your reply. Well if project/job costing from navision can help us then we shall for sure look at the functionality of these two granules in navision and can look into the process and know how to use it. Thanks for your help

Hi,
Could you please more elaborate your requirement?
Thanks.

Another option is to simply use reservations. You can reserve Purchase Order Lines to specific Sales Order Lines.0
