Navision Crashing Unexpectedly

Good Afternoon,

I have a situation that I would be highly appreciate if I could receive some assistance on.

I currently have a female who's Navision crashes every hour or so while working on entering in Sales Orders. There are currently 100 navision users in your company and this issue is isolated to her.

So far the troubleshooting steps that have been taken are:
1. Replace her nic card
2. Complete remove her navision and SQL credentials and readd them.
3. Had her log into a Citrix session which runs on a separate network and the issue still occurs.

Navision doesn't release an error but inside of event viewer, I get the following.

The program finsql.exe version 6.0.32012.0 stopped interacting with windows and was closed.
Application Path C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\finsql.exe

I am at a loss since there are literally several other employees on her same network, have the same credentials, and use the same equipment and work just fine.

We are currently on Microsoft Dynamics Nav 2009 R2. Version 6.0 R2. For Sql we are using Sql Server 2008 R2. Version 10.50.1617.0

Any assistance would be highly appreciated. Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide.

Chris

Do you mean that she is using Navision through a remote desktop or is it installed on her workstation? If it is installed on the workstation I would try reinstalling it. Also the .Zup file can cause all kinds of issues (it gets messed up rather easily), so the first thing I usually do is delete that file. If it is being run over a remote desktop, you would want to find the zup file it creates for her on the server and delete it. In almost every case where a specific user is having issues with their client it is either their zup file or their client installation. Deleting this file doesn't harm anything (although it does loose any custom column width/positioning settings as well as some other user tweaks).

    Dakkon,

Thank you for the response. I believe that the issue has been resolved. We use a third party application called Avatax and it was calling a table that the individual didn't have access to. So some I added those credentials, the problem was resolved. It might have been a combination of user error as well since she has is constantly switching between forms and doesn't close any of them. Thus that might have contributed to the issue.

    Thank you,
    Chris
