adding consumped item from item journal proplem

Hi guys i want to request about some thing i have item has more entry wrong in quantity and unit of measure and cost. so that i want to create new item then block old item. Now i will add
entries to new item from item journal by selecting purchase entry type.What i will select from item journal when add consumped entry type .
please help me

Sorry your question is not clear but the whaever I understod is that you want to post a consumption entry for the old item. Right?

thanks for reply in my case i have item has wrong in quantity and cost and unit of measure
my data as following
quantity cost per unit unit measure
2.5 655 ton for old item
i need like this
2500 0.655 kg this is correct

are you got what is the problem the old item i use is xyz i rename xyz1 then make another item with name xyz.this item raw material (purchase and consumption only) i added purchase entry
but what i made in consumped entry found in old item before(now xyz1) are i added as negative adjustment by new correction (new cost value,new quantity value,new unit measure)
please help me
