I know server side office automation is not supported and discouraged, so Iam looking for an alternative.
I have done alot of reading around on forums but would like to ask your opinions and advice for the best way to create word and Excel documents (including saving word files as a PDF) without using automation. Is open XML the best way to go? Can this be done with C/AL code?
Lastly, how do the Export to Word/Excel buttons on the toolbar function as I notice when you select 'save as...' they want to save as XML files - is it possible to replicate this?
