Update Item No. on No-Related Table (No Relation Set)

I need some help (Nav V5 SQL)
I have many tables which are not linked (Relation bad design) to Item No. (Item Table). Now (Due to business Need) we need to change few item No. Standard item Rename works fine. however, how do I Rename/Update Item Code in not releated tables. any sample code will help?
