Cannot Reverse Posted Journal

Hi! My customer cannot reverse a posted journal and is receiving the message 'You cannot reverse the transaction because it is out of balance'. But after disabling the Additional Reporting Currency in the General Ledger Setup, I was able to reverse out on at test environment. My question, is there any impact if this workaround has to be done everytime the message is encountered? The ACY is required for reporting and always disabling/enabling will it affect the system integrity?
