NEGATIVE STOCK TRANSFER

Hi experts

I want to tansfer quantity more than inventory from one location to another location using transfer order screen(5740) . But iam facing an error . plz guide how can i do this? I am attaching the snapshot.

To my knowledge it is not possible. You can sell something that you don't have, but transfer it - you can't (i don't test this in NAV 2013).

Make positive adjustment for that item and then transfer.

Hi,

Actually you cannot post Item Journal Line of type Transfer if the source location is negative in the end. The option I have used in my scenarios was to make negative adjustment in source location and positive adjustment with applies-from entry populated by negative adjustment item ledger entry no. In that case the value should transfer correctly and you should end with negative inventory in source location.

Doing it that way you may end up in valuation cycle. In that case you will end with open item ledger entries even if the inventory gets to zero.
