Navision freeze on search functionnality

MctMct Member Posts: 30
Hello,

I have an issue with my shipment table. on the shipment liste form, when we begin to type something in the search tool, in order to filter the order no., with the immediate search enable, Navision freeze and we need close it through the Windows task manager.
If the immediate search isn't activate, once the full order number is typing, Navision is positioning us on the right record and no crash.

We try to find any corrupt record without success.

Is someone having any idea?

You should disable find as you type. Search the forum on more info on this subject.

It is definitely best to switch it off. "Find as you type" is putting too much pressure on the sql server.

But 600K records is just a few and the search should finish within seconds. Some things to check:
    - How long did you wait? Are you sure the client was dead?
    - Which NAV build no. are you using? Take a copy of the DB and try it with a newer client.
    - What happens when you sort shipment table before search by order no.
    - Use SQL profiler to check what happens when you use the search
