Hi everyone! Check out our 'How-To, demoscript' for Assembly Management for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 here (scroll down to Assembly Management): https://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource ... ion.htm#AM

There are also other Assembly Management materials (slides, factsheets, blog, and videos) there too!

I was hoping to find a little more information, so I read the script. :D

On Page 8 it says that the Assembly policy can be either Assemble-to-Stock or Assemble-to-Order...

I've had an issue where the Assemble-to-Stock Item does not create an assembly when used on a Sales Order. Once changed to Assemble-to-Order, it worked as expected.
On page 12 it didn't specify which one was going to be used... :?

I also had an issue when increasing the quantity on the Sales Line when Item tracking is on a component. The Qty to Handle was not getting increased in the Item Tracking. If you post, it will allow it, but only consume the original amount of tracked component. If you decrease the quantity, it updates. (10 to 15 only 10. change the 15 back to 14 and it updates to 14)

I was actually looking for how to do a Partial Invoice on Assembly Items.

The Assembly Policy for item number CABLE-EF-SS-4.0 (as well as for other items used in the demo) is set up on page 5, in the “Demo Data Preparation” section.
When on page 8, the item card for CABLE-EF-SS-4.0 is being open (see screenshot in the demoscript) the Assembly Policy is Assemble-to-Order (ATO). In this demo step, the item is used as an example to explain the new fields. The “what to do” text does not instruct to change the Assembly Policy.
Related to the above points, by the time you reach page 12, the item’s policy is still ATO.
I also had an issue when increasing the quantity on the Sales Line when Item tracking is on a component. The Qty to Handle was not getting increased in the Item Tracking. If you post, it will allow it, but only consume the original amount of tracked component. If you decrease the quantity, it updates. (10 to 15 only 10. change the 15 back to 14 and it updates to 14)
I have verified your ATO scenario with serial numbers on components and the program behaves correctly, i.e. the posting is not allowed in either cases – be is quantity increase or decrease. If you scenario is more complicated than that and you believe there is an error – please report as a bug.

    Ah...
    I didn't read everything
I was skimming the document looking for clues about my scenario and what may have gone wrong.

I haven't had the time to verify the scenario in Cronus yet, but if I can recreate, then I will submit a bug report.

    Thank you for your response.
