Is Active Directory Mandatory for NAV 2013?

if not, how to deploy NAV 2013 in a client-server using database authentication?

If NAV Server is on same server as SQL, I think it is not mandatory to have domain. You can config the NAV Server to use "NAV Authentication" (something similar to DB Logins but NAV side, not SQL side authentication).
