Duplicate Contacts - Generate Search String

I am trying to test the Generate Duplicate Search String funtion in our test environment to see if it works. We have a decent amount of duplicate contacts that need to be merged. However, when I run the function, I am not getting any results. I've tried it with no filter, because I want the list to include all possible duplicates and I've tried it with an entry in the company name that I know should provide at least two contacts, and yet I don't get anything. What am I doing wrong?

Did you run report 5187 Generate Dupl. Search String

I did.... but I didn't have my search string parameters set up. I figured it out. Now to determine what to do with all my duplicates.
