Report Filters not saving

In the RTC (NAV 2009 R2), we have a client where a report is not saving the data item filters from the last run. Again, the problem is filters on a data item - NOT the request page (that works fine with SaveValues). On our server, running the same report remembers the data item filters from the last run with no problem.
Does anyone have anything to suggest I look at? I'm not sure if these settings are stored in the user settings XML file and if it would be worth renaming that to see if a fresh settings file makes any difference? If anyone has had this issue, let me know.
