Hi,
I have been playing with the MergeTool and watched the videos Per have made, but I can't figure out how to use the MergeTool for an add-on upgrade/merge.
Let's say I have imported a base, custom and add-on version that I need to merge. An example of the three object files could look like this (only tables) :
Base:
5200|5207
Custom:
5200|5207|5218|6000808|6000817
Add-on:
5200|5207|5218|6000808|6000817
When I try to merge these versions, the MergeTool complains that the objects 5218, 60000808 and 6000817 only exist in the custom and new version, and it will do nothing about them?
So, what is the best method to make an add-on upgrade using MergeTool when you have different object sets? Actually I just want to compare/merge custom vs. add-on object set.
Another related question: When I do a manual merge in MergeTool, and I want to exit, how can I return to the object I was working later on. As far as I can see it starts from scratch again, when I re-enter the merge process and it hasn't saved the objects I already have merged?

Per when he trained me also made a recording which I then downloaded for future reference.
He has a lot of tricks included in his product that he shows you in his training.
Recommend you invest 2 or 3 hours and get some help from them.
