Missing Dimensions

Dear All,
We have a 2009 environment with LS retail, we had realized recently that a lot of items are not having a mandatory dimension attached to it, now when running average cost update batch job, we are getting an error message that there is a missing dimension. is there is any way to fix this "including ILE, VE" with a magic wand... what is worrying me is that LS post daily sales transactions in a consolidated manner "By dimension".
