We have created a new company and imported the items into warehouses without bins. But we saw that this desicion was not the best. Hence we want to add bins to this warehouses.
Unfortunately we work with some modules which already have created some traffic and some orders are already done.

My experiences regarding warehouse are small, so what is the best way to add bins to the warehouses ? Is it possible to do this "on-the-fly" ? Or has every item in the warehouses have to be migrated to new warehouses with bins ?

thanks in advance

    Hi,

My suggestion is to Create another Location with bin code Mandatory, do Item Re-classification from the Old Location (w/o Bin) to New Location (with Bin), with Bin wise quantity. And after doing re-classification Block the old Location Code (w/o bin).

    Hey Uda,

we tried this way already, but we encountered some problems with the serial nos. The system always tells us, that it didn't find the serial number in table tracking specification (336), although the item and the serial no. is in table reservation entry (337).

I think i still have to investigate into this issue...

You have to create a custom process that posts a warehouse journal that only hits warehouse entry.

    Hi whynotwi,

This is the correct & authenticated way to do, You Just needed to enter Item Tracking specification manually, or create excel sheet for the Item tracking specification & Import it.
