Adjust cost and posting dates error

Trying to understand what is going on here ](*,) One for the masters!
The error message was: Posting date is not within your range of allowed posting dates in Item Journal line etc etc

I got this message when allow to and from dates on GL Setup was for month of November. The message went away when i changed the dates
to October. (Last inventory closed period is August).

An explanation as to why this message appeared will be very educational.

    which version?

An adjustment had to be run for an entry which had a posting date in the past. The posting date in older version came from the original entry. later they change that based on Inventory accounting period dates.

Take a look at GL Register for the entries posted and then click to Value entry associated with them.

    Hi Ara3n

In which version it is changed? I am curious to see whether it is possible to by pass the date check only for ACIE and Post Cost to G/L batch jobs.

You don't want to bypass it. You don't want to post to closed accounting period.

We restrict posting Date rights only to the current date to all users. I am forced to give exemption for the users running these two processes

You can specify that in User Setup table.

    No Ara3n
Sorry for the confusion if any. What I meant was to release the Posting Date check only for ACIE. The user will have restriction for all other transaction postings.

When we use User Setup which we use now, they are given the range which affects everywhere. So, my quest was just to see whether it is possible relax posting date check only for a specific jobs.

without any modification just ask them to login as separate user for adjust cost.
