Hi there MiBuso,
We are an end user and we run Navision 2009 (currently classic) but we are planning to move to the RTC.
We have the application builder license and we do many customisations in-house.
I understand that you need the Solution Developer license to be able to run the Transformation Tool. I was wondering why this restriction was in place? It means that either we spend another 16k upgrading the license or we push all custom forms through the partner.
Perhaps there is another method of transforming forms to pages?
I know that many posters on here do have access to the SD license, so it may not be an issue for you - I just thought it was a little unfair on the end-users that do develop.
I appreciate your comments,
WoodMan

Just a thought, it might not work.
No joy with the Cronus license I'm afraid, but thanks for the response.
BTW, I have in front of my monitor 'Nav 2009 Application Design', it's so well written and a great reference
Thanks,
WoodMan.

I'm also offering RDLC Report Training, ping me if you are interested. Thanks to the 700 NAV developers that have now already been at my training. You know you can always call if you have any RDLC report issues :-)
Yes I can export to XML. I usually use XML Notepad for editing XML, although I've never edited a Navision object.
What do you suggest?
Thanks,
WoodMan
1. Export the forms you want to transform to a file called "forms.xml"
2. Copy the "TransformationTool" folder on the NAV 2009 folder i.e. to you desktop
3. Now drop the "forms.xml" into the "TransformationTool" folder.
4. Hit or jump on the "Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Tools.FormTransformation.exe" file.
5. Notice that you now have a "pages.xml" created in the same folder.
6. Now import "pages.xml" into NAV.
Now you have transformed pages, but it's just basic transformation. I.e. all pages are PageType=Card. so you manually need to change this in Page Designer, if the pages are not Card's.
You will get very far with the above simple steps, and do not need to import the Transformation tool into NAV.

Thanks, you are a twinkle (little star)
It looks like I have a steep learning curve ahead of me with the RTC, shame - after 4 years I'd just figured out the Classic!
