Nav 2009 R2 RTC

Hi All.

I am a newbie here and also a newbie to Dynamics. We have setup a test company using Nav 2009 R2 Classic w/ SQL Option. I understand that most configuration and setup needs to be done there, however not that the company is setup, we can connect through Role Tailored Client. When I open RTC it seems to always connect to the default Cronus native database. When I go to select server, it does not give me an option to connect to a SQL Server.

I went to run > services.msc and setup the connection of using a domain account that we use in classic to connect. All logins are synced. What do I need to do in order to connect RTC to SQL. Is there a procedure somewhere to follow?

You need to learn more about the architecture. RTC is not connecting directly to the database on SQL, but to NAV Server (service, you need to install and configure). The NAV Server than connect to the database on SQL Server. This must be configured on the NAV Server (NAV Service, NAV Service Tier, NST... different names for the same).
