Am I understanding this correctly on this blog.

that Partners now have to pay quarterly for the tables they use for their solution.

This will make partners abondon vertical solutions that they don't sell enough.
It also will hinder new partners to create new solutions.

Partners will just build them in 50K range and ask the customers to buy the tables themselves. That way no payment paid by the partner.

The payment is only for non certified Add-Ons. Its a way to kill off companies that use ISV as a way to sell customer code. Basically unless you can sell at least 5-10 or so of your Add-On product a year, its going to be more effort than it is worth, and as you say it will be better for them to go back to the 50k range.

The thing is that there are way to many Add-Ons out there that get sold 3 or 4 times and then die, leaving existing customers with no support or future. This new model will make companies take the ISV program more seriously.

Of course only time will tell if it works or not.

A better solution would be to go back to the days where and ISV or NDP or NISH was not allowed to sell Navision licenses nor be associated with a company that sells them.

Separation between the two would bring back higher levels of support for the customers.
