Extending Profiles to Include Page Setup (A Template)

Hi,

I am aware of being able to assing a profile, or Role to a particular user, such as ORDER PROCESSOR.

I would like to extend this a bit futher.

For our ORDER PROCESSOR, each user typically personalizes the various pages in the same way, as in what columns show in detail lists in subform pages, what order the columns are in, as well as other customizable parts of the page.

We would like our profile ORDER PROCESSOR to include all of these typical personalizations for a user when the user is created and assigned the profile.

This would be the equivalent of having a ficticious user called OrderProcessor, with the user having any number of page personalizations stored in table 2000000075 User Metadata, and when a new user is assigned the ORDER PROCESSOR profile, having all of the personaliztions in 2000000075 User Metadata copied to the new user, with new records being created in the new users User Id in the table.

I will be looking at doing this in some fashion, but I am trying to find out if it already exists.

you can start the rtc with parameters to modify a specific role and those changes will apply for that role.
