IC purchase order posting not include Variant Code?

hi all
i have create IC posting purchase order
lets say i put Item A,Variant A
once i post ... it only come with Item A only (variant A will not come along)
is there a way or some setting that i miss, to get this variant A once i post IC Purchase order
