Hi All,

Recently i facing problem on intermittent disconnection on NAV 2009 R2
1. Scenario as below:
-Server are running without Active Directory
-NAV services are running on SQL server
-Total of 10 users for NAV 2009 R2
-authentication is running workgroup as username and password on server are same as desktop username and password

Problem:
-when more than 4 users logon, 5th and 6th users trying to connect via NAV 2009 R2 RTC facing problem unable to detect NAV services.
-to solve the problem, require to stop and restart/reinstall the services so allow 6 users or more to logon to RTC

I also installed Active Directory to troubleshoot under same network
-AD are running same as SQL server
-Total of 10 users
-Nav services running same as AD and SQL for testing purpose

Problem:
-when more than 4 users logon, 5th and 6th users trying to connect via NAV 2009 R2 RTC facing problem unable to detect NAV services.
-to solve the problem, require to stop and restart/reinstall the services so allow 6 users or more to logon to RTC

I had check on client pc unable to detect nav server via rtc, when i trying to ping the server, it does show response.

Does anyone facing similar issues before and any idea regarding this?

How much memory you have on the server? Are there some entries in event log? How looks your customsettings.config? Which build?

    Total Memory is 8GB
    Running RAID 1 (500GB) SAS
    Version: NAV 2009 R2 6.00.32012
Custom Settings is default as per installation only changing database name.

The events logs show OK and nothing wrong though.

i had check through the network again, seems ok for me, and there is no one else besides the 9 pc i testing on the network.
i had all pc scan with antivirus also disable antivirus and internal firewall been disable just to identify the problem but problem persist.

If possible, I recommend to use latest hotfix. Your build is very old and there are many issues fixed. May be one of them could be disconnections...

That's a strange issue. It should certainly be possible to connect a lot more than 4 users to the server. Can you please post more information on what fails? Are there any error messages, and/or any hints in the Windows event viewer?
