Minimum stock level calculation in Ax3.0

When I want to calculate a minimum stock level in Ax3.0 I need to choose between to calculate with the average requirements during leadtime or with the use of a service level. What I don't understand is why I cannot use both. I would expect AX to use the average during leadtime to cover the average sales during the leadtime and to use the service level to cover possible additional sales (above average) with the use of a certain level (e.g. 95%) and the standard deviation of the usage.
