BOM Shortage Report

Is there a report that will show me the quantity of component I currently need for kits (Assemble to order). I want to see what is required and the actual quantity in inventory.
This has been such a nightmare for us. It seems like it would be an easy report, but I cannot figure out how to filter any of the standard reports.

From the Released production order, click Print>>Shortage List report. This gives the list of component Items along with the quantity required, quantity on Hand and other information. This could also be used to plan the Purchases accrodingly for Production.
