One of my friend used NAV 2009 R2 to open NAV SP1 database. he received the message abt upgrading DB & he said OK. now the clients using NAV 2009 SP1 are obviously not able to use it. How to reverse this?
The simplest is probably to install the R2 client for all the users.
The other options are to restore from the latest database.
You could try to reset the database version, then create a navision FBK and do a restore, but that is experimental and may not work, and take a long time.
Thanks but -
1) how to reset the database version?
2) installing R2 client to all users will not affect any transaction? i mean is it so easy to upgrade from SP1 to R2?
3) any license issue if he use R2 clients for all users?
3) any license issue if he use R2 clients for all users?
Generally the only serious issue will be performance. So you need to test key processes to make sure they don't slow down. Also any interfaces you have may need to be changed, NAS especially.

If using classic, you can just get everyone on R2 classic client. It won't affect any transactions.
Also, fire your friend.

I will update the guy on performance & interface testing.
Thanks for all the expert advice
