NAV Date Calculation for Order To Promise (CTP)

Hi I hope you can help.

I a trying to setup a scenario where I have created a new production BOM item (Item Fin) with a single item (Item Raw)for raw materials and given that item a 3W lead time calculation.

There is no stock of the Raw material, so I expected to create a Sales Order for the Finished item then run the CTP and this would say 3 weeks!! It does not it defaults to tomorrows date! Also when I create a Production Order and create the planning lines the system wants me to place an order with a date 3 weeks before.

These are pretty fundamental for NAV and I cannot get any to work.
