Restrict items to be sold together

We are going to start one offer, Please suggest the mechanism for the following scenario.


Dear Experts,

My question is related to LS RETAIL. Please highlight on this.

We are going to start one offer and following is the scenario.

Scenario:

Let say we have

20 items of hardware.

10 items of software.


Now, the sales staff if they are selling any of these particular 10 software. They should not be able to sell it unless hardware item is included.

So basically, software should not be sold without any hardware. If these particular software are being sold then definitely it should have at least one hardware item with it. These Software can't be sold individually.

Whereas, for hardware items, their case is opposite. They can be sold individually even without software

please let me know for any further clarification.

    Dear Fahd,

    Would you want to link a particular Hardware Item with a particular Software item or system should give you an option of all the Hardware items upon selection of a software item and then the cashier selects the appropriate Hardware Item?

    thanks for replying.
    Well actually these items are not fixed with each other.The software could be any software and similarly the hardware could be any one as well.

    But IF the software is scanned. It must contain at least one hardware item. User should NOT be able to sell the software individually.

    User should be able to choose the hardware items and since they are hardware items the should be also prompted for the serial numbers.

    Sometimes the customer might also buy 2 or more software within the same transaction.He/she can buy if he/she wishes to buy 3 software and only one hardware.

    The list for selecting hardware items would be fine also.

    Please let me know for any other clarification!!

    are all the hardware items identified by the same posting group or product group, dimension, catagory?

    and all the software also identified under a differente one?

    to me that might be the first step. to have an identifing field on the sales line.
    then on release of the order using FIND to run thu the lines and if a "software" item exists.
    if it does then run thru the lines again checking that a hardware item exists else throw an error. :-k

    Dear Fahd,

    An infocode can be created and all Hardware Items can be specified in lines of that incode. There is a field Serial / Lot No. needed, this can be used for making serial no. mandatory. Input required can be set as False. Then system will give a pop on POS for the Hardware Items. Cashier can select one among them. At the same time if Cancel is pressed then the Hardware item will not come.

    This infocode can be attached for all the Software items. Hope this helps.
