Error while viewing stastics & posting purchase invoice

Error while viewing stastics and while posting
Hi all ,
Client is using 4.0 SP3
While viewing of statastics of purchase invoice I got error "Vat Posting Setup Doesn't exist". I checked all the lines but did found all set up are correct. so I debugged and found that It is showing error for the G/L account which is not at all exist it in my lines.
So checked chart of accounts for this account and found that Gl account name is "Purchase Invoice rouding"(I don't the setup where it is specified)
My question is that is it normal behaviour should i create the Setup for that?
While posting purhcase invoice purhchase invoice header 4373 already exist(4.0sp3) when i checked the last no used that series i found that it 4388
but it is still taking 4373. when I zoomed the purchase header I found that posting no is 4373.
How to rectify this one. IS some body have changed at the back end?
