Client completes 5.0 install every time I log in (over&over)

After an executable upgrade (from 3.6 to 5.0sp1) one workstation (Windows XP) is experiencing a strange issue. Every time the user logs into Navision, the 5.0sp1 installation appears to complete. The user works in Navision without issue, logs out, and when they log back in the installation appears to complete again. While Navision is working, this is a bit annoying to the end user.

Any ideas?

Very odd. This was a bug in 3.60, and even up till 3.70B it still happened on Citrix. But I have never seen it since 4.00.

At a guess I would say you have some 3.60 stuck in the registry, so try to uninstall all signs of Navision then clean out all references to Navision in the registry then do a clean 5.00 install.

BTW often in 3.60 you could fix this by going the the fin.exe and Run As Administrator. This would give setup the required permissions and complete the install. But that didn't always work.

As a point of testing, if you log onto the machine with a fully fledged admin account and try to run NAV do you also get the installer pop up multiple times? or just the once?
